About us
Science Blog was started in August 2002. It lives, breathes and eats press releases from research organizations around the globe. Most of what you read here are press releases from the outfits named in the stories themselves. Got a news story you think belongs here?
Let's talk.
The other half of the equation is
blog posts from readers like you. So if you have an interest in science,
please register and join others like you in an ongoing, vibrant dialog about what makes the world tick. Meantime, please take a minute to read our

Think about it this way. You are a career woman. Your mother wants grandkids- she's not subtle about it either. She constantly shames you and she's on your back constantly about boyfriends, what you are wearing, your prospects, etc. Of course, she's really the only one. Your girlfriends and the world around you fully support you. The world around you wants you to be an independent, successful career woman who has it all. So you can ignore your mother because she's just old fashioned and she doesn't understand the world as it is today. Remember how it feels though- it sucks. She says some stupid shit sometimes and its hurtful. Now- you're a man. You have the same mother, but oddly enough, the rest of the world agrees with her. Hell- even that career woman thinks you are immature and selfish. The mainstream (almost all movies, tv, and print), portray you as the lowest of dumb creatures led around by your penis. Personally- I've found happiness by minding my own business and trying my best to ignore any women who are trying to attract me or convince me to date. but it can't be helped. Invariably, a seemingly professional or friendly conversation will always turn into- so why are you not dating? What I don't understand is why women think that what I'm doing is mean or bad. I am focused on me- my mind, body, and soul. If a woman says that, she is empowered. If a guy says that- he's selfish.
