About us
Science Blog was started in August 2002. It lives, breathes and eats press releases from research organizations around the globe. Most of what you read here are press releases from the outfits named in the stories themselves. Got a news story you think belongs here?
Let's talk.
The other half of the equation is
blog posts from readers like you. So if you have an interest in science,

There are striking similarities between African Americans and apes. The bone structure of the face, the nose, the palms of the hands, for some..the walk (my psychology professor for example) the shape of the buttocks, the thick muscle mass. I could go on. Leftover traits from evolution, and nothing more. In my opinion, this gives evidence to Africans being the first race of humans. It's not, of course, reason to treat any human as less than that. Human. I wouldn't conclude people's bias against black people to be a result of linking them with apes. Most people who are that prejudice are too ignorant to even know what evolution is, much less, understand what it means to have a common ancestor with other animals. Humans have evolved in physical appearance, but for some, the mind didn't keep up the step. That goes for both people who are prejudice against people because of their skin color, as well as those who play the race card. And as long as a society has one, it will have the other. Every action has an opposite and equal reaction. The more extreme a mindset you have, an opposing mindset of the opposite extreme will exist. The yin/yang. If racism and prejudice is to come to an end, it has to come to an end at both sides. It's time to come down from the trees and leave the chicken and egg scenerios in the hen house.
