Colliding Particles – A series of films following a team of physicists involved in research at the LHC at CERN.

The Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Switzerland is turned on for the first time on 10 September. One of the main aims of the the LHC is to discover once and for all whether the Higgs Boson actually exists or not. Colliding Particles will follow a small team of physicists with a possible way of identifying the Higgs from the data produced by the ATLAS experiment. The project will document the historic events at the LHC and explore the mechanisms of the scientific process itself. The site also includes educational materials for science teachers to use the films in the classroom.
