First, let me introduce myself. My name is Don Margolis. I was the founder of TheraVitae, the first company in the world to commercially treat heart disease patients with stem cell treatment– adult stem cell treatment to be exact.
We took the adult stem cells from the patients blood and implanted them into the heart muscle or coronary arteries. TheraVitae is still improving dozens of people’s lives with these wonderful adult stem cells today.
Now, five years later, I have moved on. I am no longer with TheraVitae. I have opened up the Repair Stem Cell Institute to educate and help patients who may have a condition or disease that their doctors have told them can’t be treated. My goal is to provide information to these patients so they may get help from stem cell therapy using adult stem cells- what I believe to be the greatest medicine ever discovered.
I also wish to make this miracle treatment available to everyone around the world so that it is easily available and affordable. Unfortunately, right now, that is not the case. For example, a blind child in America suffering from a condition called optic nerve hypoplasia has to travel all the way to China to receive adult stem cell treatment so that child can see for the first time. Or, a multiple sclerosis patient has to go to Israel to improve his condition using adult stem cell therapy.
This technology/treatment is not available in the United States. The technology is here already. Then why aren’t we making use of it? The United States is moving to slow to embrace this treatment that is already ready to go- we don’t need to wait for embryonic stem cells to cure Multiple Sclerosis- they are treating it with adult stem cells in Germany, China, Argentina, Israel, and Costa Rica and elsewhere. We don’t have to wait for a President to “approve taxpayer” research- the research has been done already. Adult stem cells are helping patients now- I have seen it with my own eyes with my patients treated with adult stem cells in Thailand with my old company.
