Euthanized Animals Shouldn’t be Fed to Addison’s Dogs

One reason not to feed Addison’s dogs commercial pet food: it contains euthanized animals. That’s according to the FDA, who found samples of dog food contained pentobarbital, a drug that is used to euthanize sick animals. This report states that dog food is more likely to contain euthanized animals if it contains Meat and Bone Meal, Beef and Bone Meal, Animal Fat (AF), or Animal Digest.

The FDA confirmed that the following dog food samples contained pentobarbital:

  • Nutro
  • Ol Roy
  • Trailblazer
  • Dad’s
  • Weis Value
  • <li, Super G, Pet Essentials

  • and many more brands contained pentobarbital.
