Writing Practice 001

Writing Task Directions: There is an error in an English magazine that you feel must be corrected. Write a letter to the editor to
(1) point out the mistake;
(2) suggest the correction;
(3) express your interest in the magazine.
Do not sign your own name at the end of the letter. Use “Li Ming” instead. You do not need to write the address.

Dear Madam/Sir,

I am one of your faithful readers of your magazine “The Economists’ Reservation”. As a reader for five years, I feel that you all devote much enthusiasm on this monthly published reading and try your best to make every volume perfect. However, I still find a tiny mistake in the volume published in April. This fault appears in the last paragraph on Page 50, which are some words in English. But there is a full stop in Chinese vision “?” in Line 6. This is apparently a typing mistake which confuse the full stop in English and Chinese vision. So you need to type the full stop after shifting the input method of computer into English vision. Hope you can pay attention to it and remedy this mistake.

Since the magazine always presents new opinions on current event from the active economists and gives valuable comments on the issues, it attracts my eyes firmly. I sincerely wish it will be better and better under the effort of both you and us.

Sincerely yours,

Li Ming
