All the content found on BHDSyndrome.org is aimed at making this site the online reference for anyone interested in BHD syndrome.
To that effect weโve been working behind the scenes to produce some original and top quality content. You can expect to find a newly updated โIntroduction to BHD Syndromeโ very soon, aimed particularly at researchers in the field. Weโve consolidated all the information currently available on the website and expanded it using information from published findings, so that it is effectively a comprehensive overview of BHD Syndrome, spanning the initial identification of the locus associated with BHD Syndrome all the way through to our current understanding of the molecular genetics of the BHD.
At the very least, this new content will provide everyone with the same level of understanding about the syndrome and is a good starting point for anyone new to the field. Ofcourse, the content will be visible to everyone and it may provide an interesting reading to non-researchers too. What it doesnโt cover are details regarding the specific symptoms and their treatment. This information can be found in the โ Familiesโ section and more succinctly in the recent article by Menko et al (2009).
Iโll also take this opportunity to remind interested individuals that registration for the Second BHD Symposium (Washinton DC, 22nd April 2010) is open and that the abstract submission deadline for both oral and poster presentations is the 15th February 2010. Travel Grants are available from the Myrovlytis Trust. See here for full details.
