Fred Schneider, Cornell University professor of computer science and noted expert on cyber security, will testify at the Hearing on Cyber Security Research and Development, Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at 10 a.m., at 2318 Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, D.C. The Committee on Science and Technology, U.S. House of Representatives, organized the hearing.
Schneider will discuss developing a “science base” for computer trustworthiness and how to expand academic cyber security research.
Schneider has been a Cornell faculty member since 1978. He is a member of the Department of Commerce Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board, a member of the Computing Research Association’s board of directors, and a council member of the Computing Community Consortium. Also, he is co-chair for Microsoft’s Trustworthy Computing Academic Advisory Board.
