Managing Microglia in A.D.

Two studies reveal that microglia play opposing roles in Alzheimer’s
Disease pathogenesis: they not only eliminate [beta]-amyloid
aggregates via phagocytosis but also kill nearby neurons by causing
inflammation and the release of neurotoxic proteases.
