Adrenomedullin inhibits HSCs

OUR GROUP. Adrenomedullin (AM) gene overexpression had inhibitory effects on cell proliferation of human hepatic stellate cells (hHSCs) and expression of procollagen type I and type III. Compared with cells non-transfected and transfected with empty vector, these two clones had lower expression levels of TIMP2 and MMP-2 but displayed a higher expression level of MMP-1.
