The oldest language

Linguists debate whether all languages are descended from a common ancestor. This can’t be completely true, since many sign languages have been invented out of whole cloth in modern time (Nicaraguan sign is a famous example), as was, to a meaningful extent, Hawaiian Pidgin.

However, students of history know from the ancient Greek historian Herodotus that Phrygian is the first language. According to his writings, an Egyptian king by the name of Psammetichus ordered that two children “of the ordinary sort” be raised in an isolated cabin without exposure to language. At the age of two or so, the children began to speak Phrygian, which was taken as proof that Phrygian, not Egyptian, is the world’s earliest language.

This study is a great example of why experiments need to be replicated before they are taken too seriously.

    Rev. Dr.G.U.Pope says: “Saiva Siddhanta philosophy is the choicest product of the Dravidian intellect. The Saiva Siddhanta system is the most elaborate, influential and undoubtedly the most intrinsically valuable of all the religions of India. It is a peculiarly South Indian and Tamil religion. Saivism is the old prehistoric religion of South India, essentially existing from pre-Aryan times and holds sway over the hearts of the Tamil people”

    The Tamil cultural tradition is independent, not derived, not imitative; it is pre-Sanskritic, and from this point of view Tamil alone stands apart when compared with all other major languages and literatures of India. There exist in India only two great specific and independent classical and historically attested cultures – the Sanskritic culture and the Tamil culture. Tamil literature is the only Indian literature which is both classical and modern; while it shares antiquity with much of Sanskrit literature and is as classical, in the best sense of the word, as e.g. the ancient Greek poetry, it continues to be vigorously living modern writing of our days. ‘Tamil, one of the two classical languages of India, is the only language of contemporary India which is recognizably continuous with a classical past.’…” The philosophical system of Saiva Sidhdhantha, a system, which may be ranked among the most perfect and cleverest systems of human thought–Prof. Dr. Kamil Vaclav Zvelebil

    Saiva Siddhanta is beyond the apex of pyramidal structure of all religions that rises majestically from a broad base. Its base is Polytheism; its lower half is Monotheism; its upper half is Metatheism; Siva Siddhanta is Supratheism or Camayātītam (Samayatitam = சமயாதீதம் = The Supreme Being, as transcending all religions. Tamil Lexicon). It does not need any support; it has no beginning, no middle, no end and no name. Supratheism is a word coined by me to illustrate its position compared to other pyramidal religions; in fact, it is not a religion; it is the Universal Truth. Man can ascend this pyramid to a comfortable or competent level. When he goes beyond the pyramid, there are no icons, Mantra, Tantra, Yantra or disputations between religions. Metatheism is immersion in and absorption of the emanating essence of unbranded Being (Generic God) without regard to any particular religion. The generic Being may be worshipped as an icon or a word. The mental and spiritual eyes, ears and perceptions of the worshipper are his organons. Drawing the hidden essence and meaning, registering all visual, auditory and extrasensory vibrations emanating from icons, formulating them in words and phrases and laying down new paths are the essence of inspired religious prose and poetry of Metatheism. Some revealed Truths are beyond words. The object of all these constructs is to attain Moksa. (Author Krishnaraj’s view).

  2. URNS DISCOVERED (thaazhi in tamizh)
    ================

    Tirunelveli is an ancient city, as evidenced by the findings of archaeological excavations which have been going on since 1840s, in the outskirts of the city in Adichanallur (now under Tuticorin district). At this site, the archaeologists have unearthed and urn which could date back to 500 B.C, containing a complete human skeleton and clay vessels with some rudimentary Tamil Brahmi script inscribed on them. Other ancient urns in which the elderly were buried have also been found in the same district. Along with skeletal finds, husks, grains of rice, charred rice and celts have also been found.More recent excavations at this site has led to the discovery of a habitation site of the Iron Age people. Archaeologists opine that it is about 3000–3800 years old, from the Neolithic period. This has assured us that Tirunelveli has been an abode for human habitation for 3000 years or more. Now, Adhichanallur has been announced as an archaeological site for further excavation and studies.

    The known history says that Tirunelveli had been under the prominence of the Pandya kings, serving as their secondary capital while Madurai remained its primary capital.

Tamil people lived during ancient times are classified according to the kingdom they lived .They are classified as Adhiyar,Arular,cheral,cholar,pandiyar etc.They are not divided by any caste,religion .But the Brahmans divided the people in the name of caste by the type of work they had done.I was proud to be born as Tamil because the caste name is not included in Tamil names.But the case is different for north Indians where all the people have included their caste name with the their names.It will be embarrassing for the lower caste people because they will be easily identified by their name.Tamil people must thank thanthai periyar and anna durai for removing the caste name from Tamil names.

      Siddha books explained a mental diseases in a names of Amirtha choodu, Piramai, Pitham, Manapramai, Payithiyam, Vattu, Very Noi as good as Marul noi.

      The disease called ‘PIRAMAI’ can be called in english as ILLUSION. Speechless state of a person.

      Here the word PIRAMAI has been taken by the aryans and they have created among the people the illusion BRAHMAM. So, as long as people under their created illusion, NOTHING CAN BE DONE.

      Extra intelligence is needed to come out this circle.

It has so far created tension, crime and sin that has no salvation at all.

        I think we tamizhians in the south understood the very nature of the selfish aryans (good aryans….not a myth) than others of india. As the society changes, the old fashion changes, the new one would not ever come to know the deepest meaning. NO ONE CARES ACTUALLY. Those who cares only take notice of everything and may reform the society. They SHOULD……

    • Dear periyar mainthane,

      Thanthai Periyar had changed one or two letters, the style of writing not the whole letters. It was because of the domination of the brahmins and their vadamozhi sorkal (letters came from north or say… from their tongue) The spoken tamizh was the same. It was not changed. For example the letter “Lai”. Instead of keeping the upper font like “the trunk” of the elephant, because the worship of an elephant god was becoming famous i suppose. Get the details if u can.

      Casteism is still prevalent in india and we should all indians feel shameful about this.

  6. Dear all,

    Another name of Mariamman (rain goddess) is KAATERI. Veeramamunivar in his poem of 1100 stanzas, “Kittêri ammalle saritiram” he sings the praises of the martyr St. Quiteria (not St. Catherine, as some writers have mistakenly asserted). I suppose, the ancient belief of worshipping kaateri amman or maariamman would cure the diesease of all water related. St.Queiteria is also worshipped in the same way as some one has written that the scars on her face faded away by worshipping St.Quiteria.

    Taken from net now.
    ================

    “Mari” was considered as a causative force for smallpox, chicken pox, mumps and measles (Maari in Tamil means rain. Since the rainfall cooled the otherwise hot area and protected people from summer sicknesses like viral infections, people started worshipping the rain goddess as Maari Amman)

    So, kaateri amman (the ferocious look) and St.quiteria has relation with each other.

    • the “amman” worship in tamizhnadu would put light to the topic the “oldest language”. Because, no other state in india has the serious worship of amman but only in tamizh nadu. Hundreds of names given to this goddess would clear the doubt and explain the relation between names of this world given to humans. The craziest worship of “amman” in tamizhnadu alone can lead and end the topic “the oldest living language”. There is no need to work hard just make the list of names of amman in tamizhnadu. The fastest and easiest way to reach the destination without hardships. Few examples of names given below,

      isaki amman
      sooli amman
      veperi amman
      muthu maari amman

      The names given to Gods in india would prove that it was once upon a time a dravidan country and how it has been faced drastic changes later on.

    in tamizh we say for “atom” the pure tamil word is “aNu” means the “karu” the “womb”. Karu…the core….the centre of any object.

    ok…one another word in greek is “anthrop”….
    in tamizh we say “aathiroopam”….the “primitive form”.

    so, the word in english “anthropology” or the word “anthrop” have the root in tamizh.

  8. Dear all,

    I am researching the word “ADAM” it must have come from “ADHI”(AATHI) “ANDAM” (may be aatham). The words “Thee” and “tham” the exact meaning is needed.

    ok..now the stories of the Bible and the myths of ancient Greece and Rome have contributed mcuh to western culture. The word ‘money’ for example is derived ultimately from the name of a Roman Goddess, JUNO MONETA, whose temple was used as a mint in ancient Rome.

    As i said earlier the civilisation has started near water, the “need” for stomach after air and heat.

    Possibilities.
    =========

    JUNO MONETA…….KUMARI ….”KUMA”….’MARI” …
    the word JUNO must be “KUMO”. Since the letter “J” has been added it is spelt as JUNO……

    MONETA……….in tamizh if we say MAZHAI+THAA means give rain.

    MAZHAI+ NEER = RAIN+WATER.

    MAZHAI NEER THA……GIVE RAIN WATER.

    It seems, while worshipping the river kumari ….mari is infact water and they requested to Goddess to give them rain water.

    JUNO MONETA……give us…oh rain Goddess give us rain water.

    “KUMARI MAZHAI NEER THA.

    “JUNO MONETA” has very close relation with what i have written above. As we have seen the babylonians had the habit of saying “mina (meen…fish) as “nina”…they have replaced the first letter “m” here. similarly the romans have added “n” removing “m”.

    So, they have all it seems come from the full form “KUMARI”. The word ‘MANITHAN” in tamizh means an “individual” but i think it is MAZHAI+THA…….RAIN+GIVE. The tamizh word “manithan” and roman “moneta” has relation.

    c u all

    Reply
    • Manithan here mani means mazhai neer, the rain water and “THAN” means “coolness” as we have the word for water in tamizh “thanneer”. So, mani+than would mean rainwater+coolness. So, we should now have the meaning of for the word manithan as “rain water so cool” instead of “man”.

  10. Aruire in tamizh means the “dearest”.

    Given below is one of Babylonian Gods named “ARURU”

    Aruru was one of the names of the “lady of the gods”, and aided Marduk to make the seed of mankind. At first she was “Aruru, lady of the gods of Sippar of Aruru”, in the time of the dynasty of Hammurabi called Ya’ruru. Another was “Nin-hur-saga, lady of the gods of Kes”. Mama and Mami are other names of “the lady of the gods”, equated with the creatress of the seed of mankind, Aruru, probably so called as the “mother” of all things. Another name of this goddess is Ama, “mother”. The Hebrew “Am ha Eretz” can be read as “Mother Earth.

    In tamizh we have “Meena” the one of the names of parvati, wife of Eesan (aasaan, the teacher or the MASTER). For fish we say “MEEN”. The excavation in indus shows there were symbols of fish. Just find out connection between these two cultures. Tamizhans and babylonians.

    Goddess “Nina”
    =============

    From the name Nin, Ishtar is also Nina. Identified with Aruru, the goddess who helped Marduk to create mankind, Ishtar was also regarded as the mother of all, and in the Babylonian story of the Flood, she is made to say that she had begotten man, but like “the sons of the fishes”, he filled the sea. Nina, as another form of Ishtar, was a goddess of creation, typified in the teeming life of the ocean, and her name is written with a character standing for a house or receptacle, with the sign for “fish” within. Her earliest seat was the city of Nina in southern Babylonia, from which place, in all probability, colonists went northwards, and founded another shrine at Nineveh in Assyria, which became the great centre of her worship, and was called Ninaa or Ninua after her. As their tutelary goddess, the fishermen in the neighbourhood of the Babylonian Nina and Lagas were accustomed to make to her, as well as to Innanna or Ishtar, large offerings of fish.

    It is clear that all the religions has the origin near water.

    c you all

    • The symbol of “fish” that is “meenamma” or “meenaachi” still we worship this “amman” it has been the symbol for Babylonians also, they have worshipping also the fish, the one who ruled the water. Ishtar the God of Babylonian is no one but Eesan only. I have found relation between the sumerian God “ENKI” and Tamizhan God Isaki Amman…ISAKI…here ISA is Sivan and “Ki” given for the female form, the “oneness” of the two Gods ISA+KI. Just like We say “thevaki, (devaki) Maathanki etc. the name given for girls in tamizhnadu. So, MEENA and EESAN are the two names so ancient still used.

  11. Interesting news taken from net.

    The history of veshti (lungi)

    Manuscripts and other evidences point out the origin of the lungi in the present day Tamil Nadu. The lungi was earlier known as ‘Veshti’, a white colored garment.

    Historical evidences point out that the Muslin cloth of Veshti was exported to Babylonia from Tamil Nadu. Writings in Babylonian archaeological articles specify the word ‘Sindu’, which in Tamil means ‘garment’. A sect of fishermen in Tamil Nadu called ‘Baradavargal’ exported lungis to East Africa, Egypt, and Mesopotamian regions. With the passage of time, the white lungi became a more refined and colorful garment with flowers and other designs printed on it. Gradually, stripes, checks in various blends of fabrics, cotton being the most popular, were made available in the market.

    If you just examine this name Vishnu….it is Ishnu…isaa+nu….The sound “sh” was added. The aryans never wanted a Dravidan God in india, they always wanted to change the whole faith. OK.

    Now, the faith is only dragging the people to all the temples, the name is and the same person is worshipped with different names. As i said i have not explored the God “SIVAN” so far.

      • Dear Shyam,

        Thanks a lot for your comments. Unless hardwork nothing can be achieved. I dont have much time to spend to establish the facts. But i can surely say that all the worship started from NATURE. Mainly the FIRE has been the main energy thats why we always associate Sivan with Fire. Various names of him say that he taught the art of dance. If you observe “burning fire” or “flame” or even a “candle” while burning you can get so many clues. When air blows the fire becomes much more active and it gives you different kinds of shapes.

        The various kinds of movements of hands and legs i suppose have come from inspiration given by fire. I come from the family of scientists and my uncle was invited to create “rolling gas” for a film shoot in the early 60s. The gas was coming step by step and colour was added to it.It would give you an impression like water fall. It was a famous hindi film.

        My uncle had a letter written by ALBERT EINSTEIN with him and in return he also wrote letters to him…. I dont know about his life full of science. He was very much obsessive about his work and he would not allow anyone to touch even his pen. One another uncle was invited by the American Government in early 60s because he was a genious. He was reluctant and then later on he was made to get out of India and he was in america but he could not survive for long he died due to cardiac arrest. Had he been an unmarried person he would have achieved a lot. I think most of scientists could not achieve a lot dealing personal affairs also.

        I dont want to give informations now. Thanks a lot for encouraging us Mr.Shyam.

            The word “mam” has in it “amudam”(love). All who supported here for tamizh have done a good job. Every language has its own charm and glory. Their tonal expressions are different and expressive. The only difference in india about tamizh is that it has the FULL FORM as well as not a single so many words to express a thing from the beginning itself. They are used by our neighbours.

            I have found some words of telungu with me they have almost reduced the words to form a sentence. And in kannada also i found similarities with tamizh, they have either removed the letter in the beginning or at the end…. and the very nearest and the very thickest relation we have …is with malayalam. Sadly, sanskrit had been mixed in their language and it shows the domination only.

            For example, ( u can get the clear picture of sanskrit domination for easy pronounciation)

From michael jackson to Elvis presley he used to listen all kinds of music. His second brother was a “man of words” means he was a “English Dictionary” himself. He knew the meaning of all words and explantions. He was a magic. Sadly, we dont have them today.

            I feel proud of all of you.

            c you all tomorrow.

        • Dear abdul thambi,

          Are we in science laboratory? Suddenly, i can see rows of glass bottles with dead infant bodies and strange creatures. I think all the beginning and the ending depends upon nature a lot. I think there was a severe earthquake in the indus valley thats what had changed a lot of things and another earthquake in the deepest ocean near tamizh land was also a reason for all the destruction.

          Even after facing natural calamities and manual destruction, still we are here to debate and giving prooofs that only shows our spirit.

          Though english and other languages have different ancestors to create their vocabulary. I think tamizhian culture had left a strong impression and spotless marks.

          Thanks a lot all of you for taking sincere efforts.

          Your comment is like Tamizh is “ANDAM” and Sankskrit is “PINDAM” so the outer part of this globe like tamizh carries the pindam to the core. Without tamizh this pindam was not possible. Anyways, it leads me to another thought.
          Thank you for your comments which is full of the theory of evolution, the gradual development of something from something else that came and was simpler.

      • yes thambi, truth it is!!!! Struggle is the another name for life…so we are struggling here. The world would never accept the hidden truth, but it is our duty to reveal the secrets of this great civilisation beyond imagination. Dont feel bad..we have done our duty for our mother Tamizh. She is happy with our work i hope so.

We can not see the peaceful atmosphere which prevailed during ancient time.

  16. The english word “ENCODE” itself has the tamizh word “eN” means the number.

    encode means to put a message into a code (a secret writing system) or to change a message into a form a COMPUTER can read.

    So, the tamizh word is used in this particular word “ENCODE”.

    Kodu in tamizh means the line which is drawn. so the word “code” is also a tamizh word.

    “DECODE” means to find out the meaning of sometthing which is written in a code.

    “CIPHER” in english means “code”..or the number “zero”. For example if you say the police caught the foreign spy sending a wireless message in “cipher” means (a system of secret writing).

    So, the tamzih words “EN” and “CODU” (code) are used in english language.

    • It is Stupidity to say that Tamil(Damn it not Tamzih) is the origin of some word and some part of it. In that sense every part of other languages can be said to be from another language.

      Just a simple logic.
      count numbers in Telugu Kannada tamil and malayalam
      you will see that all the numbers sound similar.
      All the languages were born out of sanskrit and it is also said that Telugu is the oldest language.

      Digest this now :
      Telugu is the only language in India which has all the words that end with the sound of Vowel. It is called the “Italian of the East”.

      Reply
      • Dear arun,

        It may be and is “italian of the east” but you should think about the origin of the language and its development. Indeed, telugu words have lots of similarties but more and more sanskrit tongue has entered into your language.

        When you have written about “Italian” then i should tell you the fact “Veeramamunivar” was the first ever christian i suppose to have taken the tamizh words to “Rome”.

        The history of tamizh is beyond “IMAGINATION”. We have so far given lots of proofs to establish the facts. All started from indus valley and excavations of tamizh letters and words prove the facts. So, there is need for us to prove now. Enough is enough!!!!!!

        I will come up with relation between tamizh and latin words may be tomorrow.

        c you.

      • Dear arun,

        Just because you have sanskrit words in your language you are side by side humiliating the Dravidian languag, his hardwork, his efforts, his devotion to the nature, his capacity to control his MIND and yoga kalai (the art for good health), and bharathanatyam (the divine dance) and you are humiliating the dravidan super man Sivan (an illusion). He is a MYSTERY still. Are you a dravidan by birth?.

      • the only mistake of Saint Veeramamunivar was that he was not exposing the facts about the language tamizh to this world though he did a lot of marvellous literary works for tamizh. The only surprise to me atleast is that he devoted his valuable time spending in tamizhnadu. He is still a “wonder”. Person like him are very very RARE. We dont have complaints. Let the secret be the secret forever. We need peaceful atmosphere than glory for our tamizh.

        • i could understand the “mayhem” that prevailed when he was here. Aryans are to be blamed for whatever they have done to the nature concept. at the end, 5 elements are to be appreciated and keenly observed. let the science grow but we are helpless.

  17. THE METAL “IRON” WAS USED IN SIDDHA MEDICAL PRACTICE BEFORE THE ARYANS INVADED INDIA.

    Aryans who invaded india only to LOOT the treasure and SURVIVE and then later on they LEARNT everything.

    This system of medicine developed within the Dravidian culture, which is of the “pre-vedic period”.
    ==================================================
    The Neem tree was regarded as sacred in Mohenjo-daro Civilization. In the annals of the ancient Siddha System of Medicine, the first medicinal plant mentioned as well as found a place, in ancient Tamil literature is Margosa or Neem. This has been used by Tamils from time immemorial as a deterrent for smallpox and other infectious diseases and also considered to possess powers to ward off evil spirits. Perhaps they were aware of the germicidal action and the medicinal properties of the Margosa, Tirumular, the great siddha is said to have been in deep penance for several thousands of years before the Christian Era in eternal bliss under a sacred pipal tree.

    According to Siddha medical science the universe consists of 5 elements. Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether which correspond to the five senses of the human body. Man consumes water and food, breathes the air and then maintains the heat in the body. He is alive because of the life force given by ether. The earth is the first element which gives fine shape to the body, including bones, tissues, muscles, skin, hair etc. Water is the second element representing blood, secretions of the glands, vital fluid etc. Fire the third element that gives emotion, vigour and vitality to the body. It also helps digestion, circulation and stimulation besides respiration and the nervous system. Above all other is the characteristic of man’s mental and spiritual faculties. A suitable proportion of these five elements in combination with each other produce a healthy person.

    c you all.

  18. ANDAM VATTAMAANATHU ENDRU KANDU PIDITHATHU TAMIZHANE.

    THE ONE WHO FOUND THE SHAPE OF THE EARTH IS CIRCLE IS A TAMIZHIAN. THE WORD “ANDAM” IN ANCIENT TAMIZH TEXT PROVES THE FACT.

    Andathil ulathe pindam
    Pindathil ulathe andam
    Andamum pindamum Onre
    Arinthu than parkum poluthu”.

    (Sattamuni Siddhar)

    The elliptical facts (The cosmos and the earth): The earth and everything above and below it, as a whole, constitute the cosmos. Siddhas compared this structure to an egg* (Andam). The earth on which we live, the small globe of all our hopes, exists within it, is compared to egg yolk (Pindam). As long as the egg is intact and safe the yolk is also safe. As long as there is good harmony between the egg and its yolk, via, the egg white, the embryonic life is ensured. Thus, according to the Siddhas, Pindam is always dependent on Andam. In other words, the world is always dependent on the cosmos surrounded by it. Siddhas have referred world as Earth, the surrounding cosmos as Sky and established the connection of these two by the three other basic factors, viz., water, fire and air. Thus, defined the state of art of the entire cosmos with a compound word (referring to five basic factors) as Panchaboodhas

    The egg contains the embryo,
    The embryo contains the egg;
    The egg and embryo are alike,
    The informed one will know!

    >> An old Siddha song.
    =========================================
    The body machine, a product of Panchaboodhas,
    Ruled by aspects of water and fire and also,
    Nurtured by air that is inhaled through the right nose,
    That nurtures the life-force that known as sky!
    >> Thirumoolar Naadi-13
    ==========================================
    Thus, the body was, in their discovery, quite comparable to cosmos. Thus they further their comparative study on these two calling them both as bigger-egg (Per+andam) and smaller-egg (Chitr-andam). Now, this comparative study opened a newer question before them. It is nothing but, WHY the bigger-egg is immortal while the smaller-egg is mortal. The God, in response to Siddhas selfless prayers, blessed their unusual question with an apt answer, based on their worthiness to know the same.

    DEAR ALL, the word “Andam” refers the shape of egg…..

    in hindi also for egg…the word is “Anda” because it has the shape of an earth. So, we find here the tamizh word andam is living in HINDI. The andam gives the shape of CYPHER…that is CIRCLE or ZERO.

    If the exploitation of aryans in the name of hinduism should be over.

    • As long as this smaller egg (the core) survive, the bigger egg (the outer earth) would also be safer. When this chitra andam (uterus) is destroyed, the evolution would get stopped. With Gods’ grace it may continue.
