  1. Y is a vowel because in school they have said ever since i was little the vowels are “A,E,I,O,U and sometimes Y” so sometimes y is a vowel either way its a vowel but i dont understand why they say sometimes y but it is a vowel so i’ve learned :P

  2. the majority of the english language is derived from other origins so crwth is as much a word as anything else on your list…
and remember, all words with y in them, use y as a vowel.
remember vowels are a,e,i,o,u and sometimes y
y is definitely a vowel when there is no other vowel in the word besides y

also cwm is a word with no vowel

  3. i believe you forgot a few, most notably, “nth” as in to the nth degree. others are called onomatopoeias or onomatopÅ“ias(in Greek). They are any WORD that describes a sound, such as Bang. But the ones with no vowels are ones such as, BRR, BRRR, HM, HMM, MM, PFFT, PHPHT, PHT, PSST, SH, SHH, TSK, TSKS, TSKTSK, TSKTSKS, ZZZ’S

  4. I DONT THINK YOU DID. TAKE IT FROM A PERSON WHO IS STILL IN SCHOOL, THAT THEY DO TEACH YOU THAT Y IS SOMETIMES A VOWEL. THIS LESSON IS THEN FOLLOWED THROUGHOUT THE YEARS WITH THE RULES THAT COME WITH Y BEING A VOWEL. IT ALSO COMES AS A SHOCKER THAT WHEN YOU TAKE A HOME EC OR ANY KIND OF HEALTH CLASS, THEY TEACH YOU THAT TOMATOS ARE A FRUIT. THANK YOU AND…… GO BACK TO SCHOOL.

  5. YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO HIGH SCHOOL. YES THE VOWELS ARE (A,E,I,O,U) AND THEN SOMETIMES Y. Y IS CONSIDERED A VOWEL WHEN IT IS PRONOUNCED AS ANOTHER LONG VOWEL. FOR EXAMPLE, CRY, THE Y STRESSES AN I SOUND. THEREFORE, MOST OF THE WORDS ON THIS LIST ARE BUNK. THEY ARE ALL CONSIDERED TO HAVE VOWELS BECAUSE OF HOW THE Y IS USED. AND BY THE WAY, IM ONLY 19 AND INFORMING YOU IDOITS OF THIS FACT. THANK YOU AND GO BACK TO SCHOOL.
