Coulomb stress induced by 2010 Mw6.9 Yushu earthquake

On April 13, 2010 at 23:49:38 UTC a Mw6.9 struck at Yushu, Qinghai province, China. USGS reported that the hypocenter of this strong earthquake was (33.224°N, 96.666°E) with depth 17 km (10.6 miles). This earthquake is the second catastropic one after 2008 Mw7.9 Wenchuan earthquake which occured in Sichuan province, China on May 12, 2008. Until now the death toll of this earthquake has climbed to 2,187, left 12,135 injured, of whom 1,434 were in serious condition and made 80 still missing, Xinhua said.

Below is a priliminary result of Coulomb stresses induced by this earthquake and aftershocks larger than M3.0.
Yushu
As shown, the spatial patterns of Coulomb stresses and aftershocks are consistent with each other remarkably well. Nevetherless, improvement still could be made after updated source mechanism of Mw6.9 Yushu earthquake is better constrained.
