A celebration of Gene Golub around the globe

Gene H. Golub, Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University, was a pioneer in the field of numerical analysis and also a leader and friend to many in the community of numerical analysts. He passed away at age 75 on November 16, 2007.
Gene Golub’s friends and colleagues will gather around the globe on Friday February 29, 2008, the date that would have been his 19th birthday, to mourn his passing and celebrate his life. In fact, several symposia will take place concurrently around the world in commemoration of Gene’s legacy.

Quick Note Before You Read On.

ScienceBlog.com has no paywalls, no sponsored content, and no agenda beyond getting the science right. Every story here is written to inform, not to impress an advertiser or push a point of view.

Good science journalism takes time — reading the papers, checking the claims, finding researchers who can put findings in context. We do that work because we think it matters.
