In Dynamic sampling there was sometimes a Mother device attached to a Proportional-Reset controller for say gas control.
I can link Mother to Process with a little-known structure underlying English, called English Qaballa :-

given ALWHS..P Order & Values 1,2,..26 and Addition.
I was at UWE, Bristol, UK on Computing for real-time systems course in 1995. I guess this device was a Limiter or a commonplace term perhaps also giving rise to the Processor on the Motherboard of a computer. Can you remember what the mother was?
I found Processes, process-specifications, [OPTICal] message-passing processes and limiting processes (inversion of) and caesium emitter clocks all clues. Knowing the Mother would clarify origins of a Process.
